What are plotter knives?
Blades are tangential, cylindrical, creasing. The choice of the type of knife depends on what exactly is planned to be done. So vane blades are sharpened on one side. They also have offset - this is the distance from the axis to the tip. It is important to set it up correctly, otherwise there will be problems when cutting the material.

The offset point is needed so that the corners of the workpiece are cut accurately, without errors. If left unadjusted, the carriage will round corners and cut more material. Therefore, you need to adjust the knife so that the carriage passes a little further.
The tangential knife has a double-sided sharpening, while it can be at different angles. The blade has a rectangular cross section. It is suitable for processing high density materials.

Creasing knife allows you to create straight grooves on the material. Thanks to this, the sheet is easy to fold. Therefore, the creasing knife is used to create packaging. Boxes with markup are stored unassembled, and then you can easily assemble it.

To use the creasing knife, the operator sets parameters on the plotter such as speed, pressing depth and offset point. The exact settings depend on the thickness and density of the material. The tool can work with paper and cardboard.
Vane knives are used to work with the film. They can make an incision with a depth of 1 mm. The sharpening angle is selected depending on the thickness of the material. For example, 45° is universal, while 30° is suitable for thin materials. There are 60° knives - they are needed for working with thick film.
